We have been training in different technical areas and supported operators with materials and equipment to improve peri-urban water supply systems. In this scope at the beginning of this year we monitored 7 water supply systems located in the center and south of the country, where in each village seven employees were trained on average.
The results obtained were satisfactory, since at least 75% of our recommendations were executed by the operators. There was an improvement of the water treatment system of Mocuba and Mandjacaze through the installation of filters and sedimentation tank. With the work done the population of Mandjacaze and Mocuba started to have access to drinking water after so much time consuming water of improper quality.
With regard to materials and equipment, the first lot has already been delivered. The second lot will probably be delivered in September. From the follow-up done to the first lot it was noted that the materials and equipment are being used properly for increasing the number of connections, repairing components of water supply systems, increasing system capacity and improving distributed water quality.
